Among Daniel’s major achievements are a gold medal and two silvers at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, a silver at the 2014 European Championships, two golds at the 2014 Individual British Championships, an incredible FIVE golds in one weekend at the 2013 British Championships and a gold at the same year’s European Championships, a British Championships bronze in 2012, a gold and a silver at the 2010 European Championships, a silver at both the 2009 World Championships and the European Championships, four golds at the 2008 European Junior Championships, a gold at the 2008 World Cup, a silver at the 2007 European Championships and a silver in the 2007 World Cup.
No wonder Daniel Keatings is such a popular motivational speaker – for someone to have achieved so much at such a young age (he was born in 1990 so he won his first silver medals at 17 and his first gold at 18!), he knows more than many about what it takes to come out on top. His achievements are even more impressive when you take into account the fact that he couldn’t compete for eight months in 2011 because of an injury.
Watching Dan on the pommel horse – where he won Great Britain’s first ever senior European Championship gold medal in 2010 – is to see a man who has commitment and dedication running through his entire body. And he uses these qualities to deliver a fascinating and motivational presentation every time.
