Previously a political speaker and journalist for publications such as The Sunday Times, The Independent, the New Statesman and The Evening Standard, Peter began his involvement with YouGov in 2001 when he became Chairman, a role he retained until becoming President in 2007.
He has also been a visiting fellow at Nuffield College, Oxford, and the Institute for Policy Studies, London. In addition, he has advised several large corporations, is the chairman of the Royal Commonwealth Society and is a trustee of Action on Smoking and Health UK.
An expert on public opinion, Peter has published the Journalists Guide to Opinion Polls for the European Society for Opinion and Marketing Research and is a regular politics and keynote speaker at industry conferences and seminars across the EU. With more than thirty years’ experience working in politics and political advice, Peter garnered a Special Recognition Award by the Political Studies Association in 2011, in recognition of his achievements in "bringing polling and intelligent use of numbers and figures to election coverage".
