A colourful personality, Alison began her journey as a business advisor only at 46 years of age but has managed to master the art of educating people about goal setting, sales training, change leadership, personal development, leadership development from her time working in corporate settings. From working in the hospitality field at companies like Seymour Hotels of Jersey, Welcome Hotels and Restaurants and the Radisson to being a frequent contributor at BBC and its various platforms on sales and small businesses, Alison has done it all. In her role as Chief Smasher at SMASH IT! Training she is able to offer her unique take on solving problems in training and coaching. Alison is also a Judge on the Great British Entrepreneur Award and has previously won an award herself at the GB Entrepreneur of the Year Awards in 2015. Five years later, Alison’s contribution to entrepreneurs and small business was given the highest honour — the title of MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List.
A Fellow at the Institute of Sales Management, Alison believes that lack of sales skills is the cause for 90% startups failing and is on a mission to rectify this. To this effect, she served as Managing Director at Sales Coaching Solutions from 2011 and it was voted twice as UK’s top 10 business advisors. Her TEDx talk ‘The Art of Getting What YOU Want’ is one that sets the cogs in people’s minds working on how they can achieve their own goals. Her book ‘SMASH IT! The Art of Getting What YOU Want’, that was launched in 2021, has a similar effect.
Also a Member of the Chartered Institute of Management, Alison volunteers as a Mentor for StartUp Britain. She is highly experienced in teaching people how to best focus on sales and sell their brand and themselves, thus instilling confidence in those who learn from her.
