Early in his career, Martin led firearms, surveillance teams and public order units for the Met Police. He then spent 14 years as an International Hostage and Crisis Negotiator. He was deployed across the globe to negotiate the release of UK citizens in the war zones of Afghanistan and Iraq. Martin eventually earned the title 'Chief Superintendent', and in his time he has dealt with over 100 barricades, hostage situations and kidnap incidents.
In total, Martin has now amassed over twenty years’ experience in international kidnap and extortion case management. He received recognition from the UN Secretary-General and UK Prime Minister for his work, as well as commendations from the UK Foreign Office and Commonwealth Office for his service. He has also managed suicide interventions and assisted dozens of people in immediate crisis. Simply put, Martin has extensive experience in managing the most troubling of crises.
