Sir Jonathon Porritt is renowned for his efforts as an environmentalist, having contributed to hundreds of newspapers, magazines, television and radio broadcasts throughout his career to spread his advocacy for preserving the planet we live in. Formerly the Co-Founder of Forum for the Future, Jonathon has spearheaded environmental campaigns and is now booked as a speaker for corporate and public events to share his passions for environmental sustainability.
A seasoned campaigner, Jonathon is famed for Co-Founding Forum for the Future and for his time spent as the Director of Friends of the Earth. He also stood as the Co-Chair of the Green Party and has been appointed as the inaugural Chair of the Sustainable Development Commission. Jonathon has long been passionate about the environment, beginning his passions planting trees and farming across Australia and New Zealand. He has also claimed countless awards throughout his career, appointed as CBE in 2000 and claiming Honorary Doctorates from the Herriot-Watt University and the University of Sussex. Jonathon has also acted as the Chancellor of Keele University and endorsed the Forests Now Declaration. Outside of supporting environmental organisations, Jonathon has also shared his passions as an author, publishing the books Hope In Hell, The World We Made, Globalism & Regionalism, Living Within Our Means and Capitalism As If The World Matters.
Over the course of his career, Jonathon has also appeared in several television programmes. He has previously been on the series Where On Earth Are We Going?, Sex, Sin and Survival, How To Save The Earth and Big Ideas That Change The World: Consumerism. He has also acted as a Non-Executive Director of Willmott Dixon Holdings, a Trustee of the Richard Sandbrook Trust, the President of The Conservation Volunteers and an Ambassador of the Blue Marine Foundation.
