Anthony Thomson is a leading entrepreneur, famed for his expertise in financial service marketing. Beginning his marketing career back in the 1980s, Anthony’s first role saw him working as the Sales and Marketing Director of Sun Life Financial of Canada. Working with the firm for four years, he then went on to become the Group Chief Executive of City Financial Marketing. In this role, Anthony sat at the helm of Europe’s largest financial services marketing and communications group, working with them for over 11 years. He was also the Non-Executive Director of Teamspirit, before founding Metro Bank in 2010- the UK’s first new high street bank in over 100 years.
Anthony is also widely known for being the founder and chairman of Atom Bank, the co-founder of Moneyspinners and the co-founder of The Financial Services Forum. He has also been the Chairman of the National Skills Academy for Financial Services and the Non-Executive Director of Agiliti. Outside of financial services, Anthony has also contributed to education, acting as the Goldman Visiting Professor of Innovation and Enterprise at Newcastle University Business School and a Visiting Professor at the London Metropolitan University Business School. He is also currently a member of the Advisory Board of Bank ABC Bahrain.
