Barrie Pierpoint is a highly successful businessman, with extensive experience in influential business roles across a variety of industries. Barrie’s 25 years as Chief Executive and Managing Director has seen him lead from the front, using his vast array techniques and knowledge to drive a business forward, open up new opportunities and ultimately produce more successful results.
A prime example of Barrie’s ability to transform and develop a loss-making business into a profitable one is most evident whilst he was Group Plc Chief Executive at Leicester City Football Club. Within a ten-year period, he took the struggling club from a turnover of £2m up to £24m and oversaw its stock market flotation.
His association with football and the sporting world continued with a one-year contract from 2000 to 2001 as Chief Executive of Portsmouth Football Club Limited, providing the team with stability and growth. Later on, he was the interim Chief Executive of Bradford City Football Club where he oversaw the launch of a new £9 million stand and the Chief Executive for a new consortium looking to take over Boston United Football Club.
Barrie also founded his own advertising, PR and marketing agency which served the sports, leisure, catering, education and retail industry. Due to his commitment to a variety of high profile clients, including Dunelm, De Montfort University, Spearing Waite Solicitors and the University of Leicester, earning the company the Investors in People award in 2004.
Because of his dedication to business, Barrie has a number of business awards to his name. In 1998, he was presented with the nationally recognised DHL Boss of the Year award, and within the year he was awarded the Ernst & Young Turnaround Entrepreneur of the Year award. In 2005, Barrie was a finalist for the Leicestershire Business Personality of the Year award.
Barrie is currently a Management Consultant and Business Advisor, applying his knowledge as a Managing Partner at BP Management & Marketing Services. In this role, he provides professional business and management support to those within the boardroom and senior positions within a company.
