Cleo has been expressing herself poetically since she was just six years old. Now as a fully-fledged poet, Cleo’s work is central to the activism of various topical subjects and empowers individuals across the globe. Quickly establishing a strong following, Cleo boasts 500,000 social media followers where she utilises her platform to share her influential creative material. Some of Cleo’s poetical creations have been featured in top publications. Her poem If I Could Write One Million Love Poems (A Love Letter to Trans Kids) was published in the esteemed Teen Vogue and others have been published in The New York Times. A popular topic of her poetry is politics, with her poems An Open Letter to My Dearest America and How I Became Woke to Politics exploring Cleo’s passion for various aspects of American politics.
Creatively talented, Cleo is also a published author. In 2018 she wrote the book titled Heart Talk: Poetic Wisdom for a Better Life. This book explores life lessons through various poems and mantras that Cleo has crafted, leaving readers feeling motivated and empowered through relatable advice. She later wrote the book Where To Begin in 2019. This book is another collection of poems and mantra, all literature that she turns to when times are tough and she needs inspiring to strive towards greatness. These poems help her when she feels overwhelmed by fear and anxiety, a true advocate for helping others to overcome struggles and challenges they may face.
Cleo also dedicates her time to sitting on numerous boards. She is a board member of The Lower East Side Girls Club and the National Black Theatre, as well as acting as a member of the advisory board for Gucci’s Chime for Change. Previously Cleo has partnered and worked with countless high-profile business, such as the likes of Starbucks, Gucci, Coach, UGG, Jimmy Choo and Dior. In reward for her creative genius, Cleo has been recognised in a number of prominent listings from esteemed publications. In 2016 Cleo was recognised by Marie Claire as one of America’s 50 Most Influential Women. A year later in 2017 she was listed as part of Fast Company’s 100 Most Creative People in Business list. Cleo’s work has been credited by top publications, including features by Vogue, The New York Times and People Magazine.
As a public speaker Cleo is both personable and confident, inspiring people to be creative and face challenges that life poses. She previously delivered a TEDx talk titled Want to Change the World? Start by Being Brave Enough to Care which explores being loving and accepting in a world where it can sometimes be in short supply. An activist for various social and political issues, Cleo works to see positive change in the world.
