Molly began her career with sights of Olympic success and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Sciences. Diagnosed with Scoliosis, Molly and others believed that her dreams of sporting success were unobtainable, however, Molly pulled through and overcame adversity to continue her training. After sustaining an injury during Olympic qualifying, Molly left Skiing behind for good and embarked on a year sabbatical in the US. Upon moving the US, residing in Los Angeles, Molly took on work as a barmaid whilst she applied for top tier law schools.
It was during her time as a barmaid that Molly became the operator of one of the world’s most notorious high-stakes poker games. Employed by Darin Feinstein, Molly began to provide catering to various players and managed a series of competitive poker games. By 2007 Molly had founded Molly Bloom Inc, putting her services into business as a catering company hosting poker tournaments. Before long Molly found herself at the helm of the poker industry, hosting games with incredible stakes of up to $4 million and players such as the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio, Nelly, Macaulay Culkin and Matt Damon.
Operating games across New York and Los Angeles, Molly became one of the best-known names in poker after originating from the small beginnings of the Viper Room. However, before long Molly came unstuck and was arrested for both money laundering and illegal sports gambling. Facing a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison for her endeavours, Molly was fortunate to escape with one-year probation, 200 hours of community service and a $1000 fine. Since her arrest and sentence, Molly has harnessed her story as a tale to tell in public speaking addresses and has also authored her memoir Molly’s Game. Molly has also recently become the focus of the film Molly’s Game, with actress Jessica Chastain portraying her life and renowned underground poker club.
