In May of 2012, a young woman became an inspiration to young and old alike. Smashing through official records, Leanna became the youngest British female to summit Mount Everest. More impressively, she also set the record for the youngest British female to have completed the Seven Summits.
Leanna achieved all of this at just 20 years of age, a fact that will leave delegates in awe. She can recall stories which reveal the physical challenges of altitude sickness while climbing Everest, to the mental strength necessary to overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles. Equally, her tales of the adventures are truly fascinating, leaving people inspired to take on their own personal challenges.
Her passion for high altitude climbing started in Dubai when her maths teacher convinced her to come along to Everest Base Camp on a school trip. She slowly became hooked along with her father and the story came to be. With a fantastic story, you will hear how through the events of her life she learned motivation, individual strength, and how to follow your dreams - even if they do seem impossible.
In her words, her experiences were “life-changing” and as well as self-motivation, she also learned the importance of a strong support network, essential for any business or individual looking to progress. Leanna is especially devoted to making other women chase their dreams having famously once said, "I love trying to inspire, especially younger women, as climbing is so male-dominated".
She is a fantastic inspirational speaker and especially for younger or female audiences. She is also an inspiring charity fundraiser having worked to aid charity centre and through her blog and website promoting and supporting the Vitiligo Society, the primary source of information and support for people suffering from Vitiligo in the UK.
