Alan Chambers is a leading polar explorer who has navigated some of the most demanding landscapes known to man. From the North Pole and the South Pole to Greenland and Iceland, there are few icy landscapes that Alan has not conquered. Widely known for leading the first expedition from Canada to the Geographical North Pole, Alan was forced to develop his skills of performing under pressure, overcoming adversity and most of all leadership. Having developed such skills, Alan is now highly sought as a speaker for corporate events, speaking on topics such as effective communication, inspirational leadership, motivating teams and winning mindsets.
Widely known for his talents as a polar explorer, Alan led the first unsupported expedition from Canada to the Geographical North Pole. A feat that took 70 days to complete, Alan reached his destination on the 16th of May 2000 and has since completed many other daring feats. This was not Alan’s first taste of adventure, however, as in 1995 he was part of the first winter expedition to traverse Iceland- an expedition that forced Alan to perform under pressure and push himself to the limits. He also spent 16 years as a Royal Marine Commando, another experience that forced him to navigate some of the most hostile environments on the planet, making decisions under pressure and putting his life on the line.
Other prominent expeditions of Alan’s include completing the Yukon Arctic Ultra Challenge and crossing Greenland for the Feet of Green Initiative. His incredible feats of drive, determination and mental resilience have not gone unnoticed- appointed MBE by the Queen for ‘Determined Leadership in Constant Adversity’. Such an award credits Alan’s authority as a leadership speaker, having been forced to take control and lead teams in some of the most demanding landscapes on our planet.
Now booked as a speaker for corporate events, Alan has previously been booked by Sir Clive Woodward to deliver motivational speeches to the England Rugby team during their 2003 World Cup bid and for the England Ashes winning cricket team. Renowned for inspiring audiences with tales from his polar expeditions, Alan empowers audiences with stories of building mental strength, vision and team leadership. Some of Alan’s other previous clients include WH Smiths, Zurich Insurance, Gate Gourmet and HSBC, demonstrating his versatility as a speaker. Having delivered hundreds of motivational speeches to blue chip corporations right down to small businesses, there is no audience too big or too small for Alan. When looking for a speaker guaranteed to instil motivation and empower audiences to tackle leadership challenges head on, look no further than polar explorer Alan Chambers.
