Shola Kaye is an award-winning speaker and author who has published several books. Shola uses her own experiences as a Black woman and an introvert to educate audiences on the importance of communication and empathy in the workplace. She also works to inspire others to help improve diversity and inclusion and become the best version of themselves possible.
Shola has studied at prestigious institutes including the University of Oxford, University of Cambridge, and Emory, graduating with a degree in Neuropharmacology & Analytical Chemistry, a PGCE and a Masters in Natural Sciences. Her professional career started as a Management Consultant for Princeton Consultants before she became a Web Producer at Razorfish Global. As well as being a successful Jazz and Motown singer, she is also a former Scientific Researcher for the US Centres for Disease Control. While working at the CDC she experienced the challenges of communication and visibility which led to her work as a speaker.
Working as a speaker and coach Shola works with organisations to improve their communication structures and become more empathetic. Her impressive client list includes American Express, Tate & Lyle and The United Nations. She has also presented a TEDx Talk on Empathy in the workplace. Shola is an author, with her first book Big Talk, Small Talk becoming an Amazon Bestseller and she has been featured in Marie Claire, Harper’s Bazaar and on the BBC. She is also a regular contributor to HR Zone, Management Today and People Management amongst other leading industry publications.
