Leading a diverse career, Matt first worked as the Head DJ at West DECA DJs, before becoming a Customer Service Representative for Kohl’s Department Stores. He then went on to join the University of Northern Colorado Student Activities, working as a Director of Legislative Affairs, Open Recreation Attendant and Coordinator of Off-Campus Housing. He then went on to work as a Member Services Lead and Director of Membership for the YMCA, before moving to work as a Content Coordinator, Product Owner of Social Media, Product Manager of Favourites and Identity, YouTube Strategy Owner and Product Manager of Personalisation, Email and Innovation Platforms for Zappos.
In 2016, Matt became the Founder and Head of Content for Salt & Pepper 30s, a company dedicated to spreading innovation and knowledge to young professionals on leadership. Also in 2016, Matt began spreading the ideas of Simon Sinek, as a Simon Sinek Igniter, sharing thoughts on topics such as trust, innovation and company culture. In 2019, Matt became the Founder and Chief Vision Officer of Octopy.io, founded with the mission to make work more fulfilling and pleasurable for the majority rather than the minority.
