Having studied economics and achieved a Bachelor’s degree at the University of Mainz, Germany, Janina continued her studies and gained a Master’s at the University of Verona, Italy. Setting a foundation for her career with knowledge in economics and the business sector, in 2001 Janina worked as a Director of Strategy Business Transformation for Siemens Group. She was appointed Director of Human Resources for Siemens in 2009 and later became Chief Human Resources Officer at the Osram Opto Semiconductors, where she was in charge of HR strategy and executive development. Janina continued to reach higher positions within Siemens with her drive for change. In 2015 she was appointed Chief Human Resources Officer and Member of the Manging Board of Siemens, where she was the youngest board member and in charge of over 372 thousand employees.
Leaving the company in 2020, Janina became a member of supervisory board, TUI AG, as well as Finnish company, Konecranes and Pensions-Sicherungs-Verein, a German insurance association. In 2020, Janina also came a founding member of the Council of Labour of the Federal Ministry of Labour. Standing down in 2021, Janina has since joined the Boston Consulting Group, where she currently works as a Senior Advisor. Throughout her career, Janina has been in managerial positions responsible for diversity, human resources, training and education.
