Her efforts help companies throughout a whole variety of industries to become more diverse and inclusive to create huge breakthroughs for the LGBT community. Beginning out as a shy and introverted child, Gina’s life was turned around when she came out as homosexual and experienced a great deal of homophobia within the workplace. As part of a realisation that she needed to take control of her life, Battye resiliently went from a size 16 to a size 6 and left her job as a teacher in a bid to move on from her past.
Having discovered a new and easy way to achieve great physical and mental health, Gina published the best-selling How to Beat the Biscuit Tin Blues in the hope that she could inspire more people to ditch ineffective fad diets, and extensive fitness routines to focus on more positive ways of self-help. Whilst endeavouring to completely transform her mindset, Battye formed a system in which could be followed by others to reconnect with their authentic selves.
She now uses this system to work with the world's largest employers, leading global organisations and individuals to deliver transgender, non binary and LGBT inclusive training. As a world-renowned advocate for achieving equality, Gina is frequently approached by those in the TV and film industry who are aiming to portray LGBT+ characters respectfully and in the best possible light. With her popularity increasing, she came up with the Playing It Gay Guidelines in order to help straight actors who are set the role of a gay character meaning that her work has been featured in a variety of media.
As a specialist in promoting inclusivity within businesses, Gina has now set her sights on becoming a motivational speaker hence creating a new platform in which she can spread awareness to corporate organisations. She uses her 25 years worth of knowledge and skills to form a compelling speech that revolves around finding your authentic self and accepting others for their authentic selves.
