Biography:

Katie Neeves, the founder of Cool2BTrans, took the bold but fundamentally necessary step to live her life on her own terms at the age of 48. She now works hard so that other people like her don’t have to struggle with that decision and thus advocates for members of the community so that they can live the lives they deserve. Katie uses her platform as a speaker to shed light on her own personal experiences about what it means to be a member of the transgender community and what it takes to make the transition as smooth as can be.

A photographer too, Katie’s work as the founder of Cool2BTrans is helping the community to great lengths. Cool2BTrans is a platform where members of the transgender community learn from each other and support one another when faced with problems. Katie has earned her position of being diversity and inclusion expert and a guidepost to organisations when it comes to implementing diversity and inclusion strategies to their operations.

Winner of the Hero of the Year Award by British Diversity Awards, Katie was also a recipient of the Trans in the City Trans Community Champion Award in 2022. These accolades might be in part due to the phenomenal Trans Awareness Training sessions she conducts in order to allow workplaces to learn more about the issues their transgender employees undergo in a workplace. Katie firmly believes that trans people deserve peace and happiness as well and so all her efforts are directed towards making this happen for them.

Chosen to be a presenter for a BBC Sound podcast series only recently, Katie has been attending schools, colleges and businesses to educate, inform and inspire people about all things related about the transgender community. An eloquent and moving speaker, Katie divulges stories from her own life and journey to womanhood and is adamant that discrimination against trans people be stopped immediately.
