Dean Stott is an inspirational and motivational individual, formerly serving for 16 years as a Special Forces Soldier. After enduring the 6 months long gruelling selection for the Special Forces, Dean has developed a strong and mentally resilient character and has since experienced hostile environments and high-pressure situations. Dean is widely known for becoming one of the first Army members of the Special Boat Service, travelling to some of the toughest places known to man and playing a pivotal role in countless counter-terrorism missions.
Unfortunately, Dean’s military career was cut short when he suffered a debilitating knee injury back in 2011 after a parachuting mission. Despite having to leave the forces, Dean continues to live by their mottos and morals, striving to help others pursue excellence. Dean has since followed a career in the private security sector, proving brave in the face of great adversity. He has been at the forefront of countless kidnappings, military coups and is also credited with single handily evacuating the Canadian Embassy back in 2014. Continually proving his ability to stay calm in the face of hostile and high-pressure situations, Dean is considered an authority on overcoming adversity, leadership and performing under pressure.
Outside of his military and security work, Dean is also well known as a mental health advocate and campaigner. After working a career that is very mentally demanding, Dean is dedicated to helping others get support and to encourage both mental and physical wellbeing. In support of his mental health advocacy, Dean made the decision to cycle the Pan American Highway in support of the charity Heads Together, a mental health charity led by The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry. Enduring a gruelling 18 months of training, Dean completed his cycling feat travelling the 14,000-mile route and claiming two World Records in the process. Philanthropic at heart, Dean has successfully raised £1 million for Heads Together.
