Jason's hair-raising experiences in the Special Forces have involved hostage rescue and counter-narcotics. His extensive high-level training in demolitions, as well as survival in extreme conditions including the Arctic, the desert and the jungle, has allowed him to become one of the most revered specialists in the world.
Jason spent three years fighting in Afghanistan, where he was involved in some of the tensest combat missions in modern military history. Losing friends, as well as defying the odds to survive on a number of occasions, Jason returned with PTSD. Open and honest in discussing PTSD, he has played a pivotal role in helping veterans to improve the quality of their lives. He is co-founder of Rock 2 Recovery, a charity that aims to help armed forces veterans and families battle stress and mental illness.
After retiring from the forefront of global missions in 2012, Jason quickly moved into television where he was required to support film crews in extreme conditions around the world. One of his early successes was as part of the film crew that uncovered Captain Kidd's hidden treasure, which had been lost in Madagascar since the 17th century.
But it is on the screen that Jason has truly made his name. Heading up Meet The Drug Lords: Inside The Real Narcos, a pioneering series that explored the lives of the most powerful drug cartel in the world in close quarters, he became a constant feature of both print and broadcast media, and was nicknamed 'the Narcos whisperer'.
Jason has become widely known for his leadership role in Channel 4's groundbreaking series, SAS: Who Dares Wins, which was first broadcast in 2019. On the show, he leads recruits through a gruelling psychological and physical process to test if they have what it takes.
In addition to his television appearances, Jason has been highly-sought on the corporate events scene, heading up conferences for the likes of Merill Lynch, Standout Media, Hasbro, For Entrepreneurs Only and Havas Lynx in recent times. Able to discuss a range of topics, Jason has delivered speeches on teamwork, leadership and resilience as well as issues ranging from PTSD and mental health to dealing with pressure.
Jason has worked closely with charities, embarking on expeditions and taking on ambassadorial roles for NSPCC, Veterans 4 Wildlife and Borne. Alongside Will Greenwood MBE, Alan Chambers MBE and other heroes from the world of sport, healthcare, television and finance they made up Arctic challenge team, Team Borne, aiming to raise money to fund research into the prevention of premature birth.
