Dr Jo Salter MBE is known for being Britain’s first female fast jet pilot, having flown a Tornado GR1 during her time in service. Moving on from her highly successful career as an officer for the Royal Air Force, Jo went on to gain experience in leadership, technology and people and is now the Global Advisory of GenAI for PwC, following her role as the Director of Global Transformative Leadership at PwC. A highly energetic, inspirational and compassionate individual, Jo is a very popular motivational speaker with many personal anecdotes to share.
Joining the Royal Air Force at the age of 18 with the intention of becoming an engineering officer, Jo decided to become a pilot after the British government authorized women to fly jet aircraft. She was awarded her wings in 1992 becoming a Flight Lieutenant of 617 Squadron. As a highly successful jet pilot Jo has piloted flights in the Air Cadets Air Experience, sharing her knowledge and inspiring future cadets as a prominent female pilot in a male-dominated industry. Leaving the Royal Air Force in 2000, Jo went on to gain expertise in leadership, technology and people, building a strong corporate career in the process.
Dr Jo Salter MBE was awarded an MBE for her services to aviation in 2022 highlighting her positive contribution to the Royal Air Force. In addition to being a Trustee of The Royal Air Force Club, she is also an ambassador for The Global Angels Foundation, a charity focusing on international development with projects including, clean water in India, healthcare and education. Jo has two published books titled Energy: 52 Ways to Fire Up Your Life and Become an Energy Angel and Energize: Spring Clean Your Mind and Body to Get Your Bounds Back Today and Every Day.
