After obtaining a bachelor’s degree in History and interning at the National Journalism Centre, Malcolm joined The American Spectator as a writer. Beginning to forge a credible reputation as a writer, Malcolm later wrote for Insight on the News and for The Washington Post writing on various aspects of business and science. In 1996, Malcolm joined The New Yorker, continually impressing and captivating readers with his unique articles penned for the magazine. In particular, two of his articles titled The Tipping Point and The Coolhunt gained Malcolm much attention, two titles of which would go on to inspire his bestselling books.
