With her career goal being to represent Team GB at the Olympics, she made sure that her performance was at its peak in time for the 2010 World Junior Championships. In the run-up to the event, Bradshaw hit the headlines by completing a 4.35m pole vault, this broke the record before she achieved a bronze medal at the Junior Championships.
Bradshaw continued to compete in the junior league until she graduated in 2011 to take part in her first European Indoor Championship where she vaulted a best of 4.45 metres. As a motivational speaker, Holly uses her experiences and anecdotes from her career to bring useful skills to stay determined to light.
In 2011, Bradshaw set a British record for the Under 23’s age range, she vaulted a staggering 4.53m and then later broke it again with a 4.70m vault. The aspiring Olympian reached new heights in 2012 as she competed in the London Games, where she improved her existing British Indoor record with a vault of 4.87m. Her performance in the 2012 Olympics bought her up to be world number three and one of the most sought after Olympic speakers in the UK.
The Rio 2016 Olympics saw Bradshaw jump a 4.60m vault which took her through to the final. After clearing her second attempt but failing three attempts at the 4.80m, she still managed to come fifth place. She went on to finish first at the 2016 Diamond League in Zurich with a 4.76m vault.
From 2017 onwards, Holly competed at many notable events securing her a place at the IAAF World Championships. She also travelled to the Gold Coast to compete in the 2018 Commonwealth Games where she finished fourth before winning the Athletics Cup, the biggest outdoor title of her career.
With new aims to compete in the 2019 World Championships in Doha and the 2020 Olympics, Holly Bradshaw is evidently an ambitious and drive Olympian. She is an influential figure within sport and is the great addition to any event as a motivational speaker.
