Alessia Zecchini, fondly known as the 'Queen of the Abyss', is World-Record holding freediver. Subject of Netflix’s The Deepest Breath, a traumatic incident in Alessia’s life has been documented, where she and her partner Stephan Keenan participated in the Vertical Blue Freediving Competition in 2017, only for the latter to never return. While she has been freediving since the age of 13, she still believes in practicing every single day, dedicating three to four hours for swimming and training. Placing importance on mental concentration before a competition, she prefers arriving at a location a few days in advance so that she can familiarize herself with the surroundings.
