Clive Woodward is best known for his role as the Head Coach of 2003 Rugby World Cup Winning English Team. A successful Rugby Union player back in the day, Clive's journey started when joined the Harlequins in 1974. Leaving to gain a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Science at Loughborough University, he promptly rejoined the sport as a Leicester Tiger, followed shortly by his debut for England against Ireland in 1980.
Gaining 21 caps for his nation, Clive also toured with the British and Irish Lions on two occasions in 1980 and 1983. Clive acquired the role of England coach in 1997 and was tasked with transforming the squad from the amateur era into the professional age. Despite the initial hardships, Clive persevered as Head Coach and his management and team attitude led the English Team to being the only team in the Northern Hemisphere to win the 2003 Rugby World Cup and Grand Slam.
Shifting his focus to football, Clive served as Performance Director at Southampton Football Club as well as playing an integral role within the British Olympic Association as Director for Elite Performance. Clive also acted as Director of Team GB at the 2012 Olympic Games that was seen to be elemental in the success the nation experienced during our home games. A pioneer leader in every sense, Clive is regarded as one of the first coaches to assimilate technology and analytics with sports. He is now the Founder and Chairman of Hive Learning - a digital learning experience designed to help teams and organisations to learn better together. His patented mantra "Thinking Correctly Under Pressure" (TCUP) continues to inspire people all over the world.
With an Honorary Doctor of Technology degree from Loughborough University, Clive also serves as a Board Member of Aura Technology. He is also the Author of "How to Win: Rugby and Leadership from Twickenham to Tokyo" and "Winning!".
