Part of the Heineken Cup winning Leicester Tigers side of 2001 and 2003, Kay developed his game thanks to the experience of Martin Johnson and Fritz van Heerden. Making his first England debut in 2001 against Danny Grewcock, Ben went on to become a stalwart figure within the squad thanks to his reliable and polished performances.
Kay was the only player of the 2007 World Cup to play every minute of every game of the competition, and only one of four players to have started both the 2003 and 2007 Rugby World Cup final.
As a rugby speaker, Ben discusses what is needed to achieve peak performance and maximise success in life, work and sport. Continuing success with his club side Leicester after the World Cup, Kay once again played a strong role in the side’s back to back Premiership titles in 2009 and 2010. Retiring after the 2010 season, Ben’s charismatic personality has led to a successful media career for both ESPN and BT, delivering expert advice before and after games using his vast experience from a hugely successful career.
Ben’s reputation as a charming and knowledgeable media personality lends well to Ben at events, using his experience in front of the camera to deliver accomplished talks as a rugby speaker and after dinner speaker. A wonderful personality for events, Ben is a well versed after dinner speaker who has addressed hundreds of audiences with his anecdotal tales of his playing days. A perfect person to give a motivational speech for all ages, Ben will engage with his audience and make everyone feel part of the action.
