Chris Packham is famed for his illustrious presenting career, having fronted many of the most loved nature series and documentaries across the BBC and National Geographic. Having presented everything from the likes of Springwatch and The Real T-Rex to The Really Wild Show and Autumnwatch, Chris is a natural in front of the camera and highly passionate about the conservation of the environment. With such passions, Chris is now booked as a speaker for corporate events to share his experiences as a presenter and his passions as a naturalist.
Best known as a television presenter, Chris started his TV career back in the 1980s as part of the camera crew of A Toad’s Tale. From that point on, Chris became a regular staple in British television working on the likes of The Living Planet, The Living Isles, Wild Shots, The X Creatures and Inside Out. He was also a presenter on The Really Wild Show- a BAFTA-winning children’s programme. In 2009, Chris was sought to present one of his most famed shows- presenting Springwatch and its sister programmes Autumnwatch and Winterwatch. Chris also worked alongside Stuart Woodman to form the Head Over Heels production company and began making programmes for the likes of the BBC, the Discovery Channel and National Geographic.
Other prominent presenting roles include Waterhole: Africa’s Animal Oasis, Blue Planet Live, Cats v Dogs: Which is Better?, Secrets of Our Living Planet, The Wonder of Animals and most recently Animal Einsteins. He has also featured in the documentary Chris Packham: Asperger’s and Me, a BBC documentary in which Chris shared his experiences of living with the diagnosis of Asperger Syndrome and the approach to Autism in the USA. He has also become an Ambassador for the National Autistic Society and received the Broadcasting Press Guild Award for the Best Single Documentary for his Asperger’s documentary.
An avid naturalist, Chris has also dedicated a great deal of his time as a patron, ambassador and president of environmental conservation organisations. He is currently the President of The Hampshire Ornithological Society, The Bat Conservation Trust and the Southampton Natural History Society. He is also a Vice President of the RSPB, RSPCA, Butterfly Conservation and The Wildfowl and Wetland Trust. His commitments to the environment have seen Chris awarded the Dilys Breese Medal and the vote as Conservation Hero of the Year by Birdwatch magazine. He has also authored books such as Bird Brain of Britain, Back to Nature: How to Love Life- and Save it, Fingers in the Sprinkle Jar: A Memoir and Nature’s Calendar.
Appointed CBE for his Services to Nature Conservation, Chris is now highly popular as a sustainability and environment speaker for corporate events.
