Dr. Rosa Vásquez Espinoza is the Co-Founder of Purple Corn Creative Science – a consulting service specialising in creative science and sustainability. A chemical biologist, conservationist, and National Geographic Explorer, Rosa leads conservation and science initiatives in the Amazon Rainforest. Passionate about storytelling, Rosa is now available to speak on sustainability, leadership, education, and the many lessons she’s learned from her expeditions over the years when hired as a speaker.
Founder and Executive Director of Amazon Research Internacional, Rosa works closely with local scientists, artists, and community leaders to conduct conservation, scientific research, and expeditions in the Amazon Rainforest. She is on a mission to prove that the Amazon’s biodiversity goes beyond just jaguars and anacondas but also to a whole host of flora and fauna that we could never imagine. Highly educated, Rosa received her BS in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the Tennessee Technological University and her PhD in Chemical Biology from University of Michigan.
Rosa has collaborated with some of the biggest organisations in the world including National Geographic, Walt Disney, and NASA. Rosa also narrated the Science Channel show “Secrets in the Jungle”. Rosa’s work has been featured by ABC Studios, Forbes, BeeCulture, Reporte Climatico TV Mexico, BCFM Radio UK, SOMOS, El Comercio, ASBMB, HITN-TV, and National Geographic Magazine.
Rosa has spoken at prestigious platforms such as the National Geographic Learning CENGAGE, NASA World Space Week, Planet Love 2.0 Launch with Pepsi Latin America, and the Garnier & L’Oreal Expo. Recipient of the 2020 American Chemical Society CAS Leadership Award and the 2019 Rackham International Research Award, Rosa advocates for scientific exploration of unexplored ecosystems, living more sustainably, and conserving fragile ecosystems.
