Elena Morettini is a leading thinker and innovator who specialises in energy transitions and climate scenarios’ modelling. Global Head of Sustainable Business at Globant, Elena is also the Co-Founder of BecauseEnergyMatters. She has played a key role in shaping the European scientific area and now wants to transform the sustainability practices of large corporations. Vice Chair of the EU Horizon Energy and Environmental Programs and the Marie Curie Industry Academia Partnerships and Pathways since 2004, Elena has led a promising career. She attained a PhD in Earth Science from University of Lausanne and served as a Reservoir Geologist for Shell. Elena then worked as a Carbonate Reservoir Expert at Badley Ashton, Head of the Reservoir Unit at Fugro GeoConsulting. In 2007 Elena joined YPF SA and worked in several roles including Chief Geologist and Geoscience Advisor of Energy Transitions of YPF SA over the span of 12 years.
Interested in fostering academia-industry cooperation, Elena has also served as a Professor of Energy Transitions and CCUS Technical Modelling at ITBA Universidad in Buenos Aires. Today, Elena specialises in providing businesses the tools they require to flourish in a new green economy. Elena has also previously served as an Advisor on Energy Transitions Strategy and Management at ARPEL.
