Peter Norvig is the Engineering Director at Google, performing R&D to improve search technology. With a BS in Applied Math from Brown University and a PhD from University of California, Berkeley, Peter received a rarefied education. Today, he has written some of the best textbooks on AI that have been issued by over 1500 universities, in over 135 countries worldwide. Most notably, Peter was the Division Chief of Computational Sciences and Head of Computational Sciences Division at NASA. In 1999, he won the NASA Software of the Year award as well.
