Stuart Russell has been the Co-Chair of the World Economic Forum’s Global AI Council on AI and Robotics, owing to his status as an AI and Machine Learning expert. With nearly 40 years of experience as the Professor of Computer Science at UC Berkeley, during which he has been the Chair of the Computer Science Division and Chair of Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences, Stuart is one of the most regarded minds in the field of AI and technology. Part of the “Do You Trust This Computer” documentary, Stuart is now available to book as a speaker for a wide range of events, shedding light on what’s new in AI.
Stuart, like many other prominent figures in AI, is concerned of its ill-effects surpassing its positives. He worries that the potential generative AI holds may lead to it becoming a super-intelligent machine – one that human beings may find hard to control. To this effect he has also authored “Human Compatible: AI and the Problem of Control”, a book that discusses what the long-term consequences of AI could be. Adjunct Professor of Neurological Study at UCSF, Stuart is also the co-author of “AI: A Modern Approach”, a leading AI textbook that has been the chosen book to teach students in over 1500 universities across 135 countries worldwide. Stuart himself possesses a BA in Physics from the University of Oxford and a PhD in Computer Science from Stanford University.
In 2011, Stuart became the Founder and Vice President of Bayesian Logic – a startup that delivers novel data analysis solutions based on open-universe probability models, a leader in its own right. A thought leader, Stuart’s knowledge on AI is highly revered in the community. He was awarded an OBE in 2021 for his services to AI – an incredible achievement. He has also been the recipient of the World Technology Award, Mitchell Prize and IJCAI Award for Computers and Thought Classification.
Member of Scientific Advisory Board for the Future of Life Institute and Centre for the Study of Existential Risk, Stuart has worked with the UN Nuclear Test-Ban-Treaty Organisation on monitoring nuclear systems through his role at Bayesian Logic. Today Stuart is urging that people be protected from the potential dangers of AI and that necessary safeguards should be placed at the earliest. Stuart is now available to hire for a wide range of events where he repeatedly proves why he is one of the most sought-after speakers on AI. Go ahead and book Stuart Russell today!
