Buch started JustEat from a small basement in the seaport town of Kolding, Denmark in 2000 alongside four other entrepreneurs. By 2004 they were breaking even. In 2005, Buch joined co-founder Bo Bendtsen after he bought out the other founders. The duo would move operations to the UK in 2006, and by 2007 they began international expansion.
Fast forward to 2019, and the company has floated on the London Stock Exchange, employs 3600 people and posted revenue of £779.5 million in 2018. In mid 2008 he retired as CEO and sold shares to Index Ventures. That year Buch moved to Marbella, Spain in order to invest in startups. In 2009 Buch founded Mentaline.com, a platform for professional life coaches and psychologists to connect with clients online. After this, Jesper co-founded Miinto Group which today is one of the fastest growing e-commerce fashion companies in the world.
In 2011 Jesper sold his shares in Just-Eat.com and decided to walk the Camino de Santiago, 850 km from France to North-West Spain. 2012 saw Jesper release a book about his personal story of the 10 years it took to build Just-Eat– The book took the top sport in the Danish iTunes charts, making him the most searched for business leader in Denmark and a globally-renowned businessman.
Jesper has won prestigious e-commerce prizes and is considered one of the top digital entrepreneurs in Europe. Speaking on topics such as artificial intelligence, digital disruption and technology, as well as business management and innovation, Jesper expertly engages and interacts with audiences at events.
Most recently, Jesper Buch was inducted into the Official Top Digital Disruption Speakers to Hire, in acknowledgement of his inspirational entrepreneurial journey.
