Carina White is a regular guest on segments on Sky News, BBC, ITV, and Channel 4 where she talks about the importance of diversity, how to bring about effective change, injustices meted out towards the Black community and about her own mental health journey. Carina is now available to speak at a range of events about these topics in her capacity as a cultural commentator, broadcaster, and now speaker.
The host and co-founder of Black Mums Upfront podcast and community group, Carina suffered the tragic loss of her mother in her teenage. Allowing herself to feel grief without letting it take over her life, she has been able to overcome this adversity with strength and grace, and her being so open about sharing her journey with grief helps people who listen to her as well. Through her podcast, she has bult a community of Black mothers who feel seen, heard, and validated, and continue to support one another as they discover new phases of parenting. Carina was also named on Voice Newspaper’s Ones to Watch list which is a testament to the effort and heart she is putting into her work.
The Head of Operations at Best of Africa awards, Carina has had the opportunity to collaborate with brands like Nike, Dove and even Barbie, and regularly talks at events for companies like Deloitte, Superdrug, Omnicom, UKTV and Co-op. While she studied social work, Carina has a professional background in sports and worked as the Head of Player Relations & Lifestyle Management at Straight Ace Sports Management Limited and Head of Sports Business Affairs & partnerships at Tongue Tied Media Ltd. She is now a Board Member at Black Collective of Media in Sports (BCOMS). However, she continues to follow her passion for social work and is also a Founding member of NSCPCC’s Childline Circle.
Carina was the winner of the We Are The City “Rising Star” award in 2020 and was also a part of ITV’s “Empire’s Child” documentary where she featured with her two siblings to discuss their family’s connection to the British Empire. She has also been a regular panellist on Channel 5’s Jeremy Vine Show since 2022 and is like a breath of fresh air on it owing to her vivaciousness.
