David Lammy has had vast experience in the field of politics owing to his many roles in UK politics including that of being a Member of Parliament for Tottenham. Starting out as the youngest member of Parliament to exist back in 2000, David’s career is celebrated and revered by many. He is now available to speak on topics he feels passionate about such as race, diversity, multiculturalism, politics, crisis management, and many other issues when he is booked to speak at a wide range of events.
A graduate of Harvard Law School, and the first ever Black Briton to achieve this, David’s career began as a barrister at Lincoln’s Inn. Since then, he has reached enormous heights in his political career including being a part of Her Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council. Having been the Parliament Under-Secretary of State for the Department of Health, Minister for Department for Constitutional Affairs, Minister for Culture, and the Minister for Higher Education, he has had the experience of working with dignitaries like Tony Blair and Gordon Brown.
Currently a Member of Parliament for Tottenham, David was also a Shadow Justice Secretary from 2020-2021. Using his platform to evoke change and transformation in our world, David has been vocal about issues regarding race, slavery, antisemitism, and how the criminal justice system affects people of Black or Minority Ethnic communities. To this effect, he published a review on the treatment of and outcomes for Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic individuals in the Criminal Justice system in 2017. A strong advocate for social justice, his TED Talk Climate Change Cannot Happen Without Racial Justice from 2020 discusses the role of social and racial justice in the solution of climate change. David has also proudly stood in support of the families that were ill-affected by the Grenfell Fire.
Receiving accolades like being named a Great Briton in 2003 and 2020, named on the Powerlist of the Most Influential People in UK of African/African-Caribbean Descent consecutively, and elected as a Fellow of the Royal Arts, David’s contribution to society is widely recognised. His work in the campaign for Windrush British Citizens to be granted full British citizenship and his constant advocacy for diversity, multi-culturalism and social activism shows that at the heart of it all lies the fact that he cares. A main presenter for LBC’s radio show, David is accustomed to sharing his views through his words and is now available to do so through his speeches at corporate and other events. With experience of working in the Labour Party for nine years, being the Shadow Lord Chancellor of Shadow Cabinet for Keir Starmer and speaking for organisations like Banks Sadler and Ascentis, David Lammy is a decorated speaker with diverse experience. Due to being elected as a front-bench cabinet minister in 2024, David Lammy is not able to accept speaking engagements at this moment in time.
