Stephen Frost is widely recognised as an authority in diversity and inclusion. Throughout his credible career, Stephen has spearheaded the missions of various prominent businesses to ensure that their organisations are inclusive of all genders, races, cultures and sexualities. Stephen’s first major role saw him become the Director of Stonewall, one of the largest organisations campaigning for the rights of LGBT people across Britain. As Director Stephen was heavily involved with building and growing the client base, advising clients such as Goldman Sachs, Manchester City FC and IBM. He was also pivotal in launching the first LGBT-specific recruitment guide, helping employers to be more inclusive in their hiring. He also developed the Workplace Equality Index, which is now widely used by countless employers.
Forging a reputation for ensuring equality and inclusion, Stephen was then appointed as the Head of Diversity and Inclusion for the 2012 London Olympic Games. His responsibilities in this role lay with ensuring that the games were run in the most inclusive way possible. Stephen was highly successful in this role, delivering a highly diverse workforce at the games with 9% disabled, 5% LGBT, 46% female and 40% BAME. Under his careful watch and organisation, the Games achieved much attention and the organisation was awarded the Gold Standard Diversity Works Award.
In 2015 Stephen accepted his next big role, becoming the Head of Diversity and Inclusion for KPMG UK. In this role, Stephen spearheaded inclusive leadership and set targets for social mobility, gender, ethnicity and sexual orientation. Stephen also led the ‘Diversity is a reality, Inclusion is a choice’ campaign introducing an inclusion week at the business. He was then appointed as the Strategy Lead on Inclusive Leadership for KPMG, leading a series of inclusive leadership workshops and coaching executives. Stephen has also formerly served as an Expert Advisor to the UK government, advising various ministers and Sir Jeremy Heywood on aspects of diversity and inclusion.
Determined to see a more inclusive world, Stephen then went on to found Frost Included LTD and is currently CEO. A unique consulting firm, Stephen established the company to encourage conscious leadership and improve diversity and inclusion throughout the workplace. Through his company, Stephen has been able to positively impact diversity and inclusion increasing both gender and race representation in various sectors such as banking, pharmaceutical and government sectors. He has also consulted various FTSE100 and Fortune500 companies, with previous clients including the likes of the BBC, McDonald's, Shell, Tesco and British Airways. In reward of his commitment to the cause, Stephen has been awarded the Peter Robertson Award for Equality and Diversity and selected as a 2011 Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum. He has also been recognised as one of the Top 100 Influential LGBT People in the UK and is a Visiting Fellow of Harvard University.
Now a highly sought public speaker, Stephen travels the globe delivering keynote speeches and workshops to a wide variety of clients. He currently teaches classes in Inclusive Leadership, developing the budding future generations at Harvard Business School, the Paris Institute of Political Sciences and the Singapore Management University. Stephen has also authored two books to support his mission of inclusion, titled The Inclusion Imperative: How Real Inclusion Creates Better Business and Builds Better Societies and Inclusive Talent Management: How Business Can Thrive in an Age of Diversity. Drawing from his broad career, Stephen is sought to explain just how workplaces can make their employees feel more included and ensure there is a diverse balance of race, gender, cultures and abilities within that workforce.
