After obtaining an MSc in Nutrition from King’s College London and a BSc in Sport and Exercise Science, Ruth Tongue has forged a successful career as a nutritionist, sports scientist and Pilates instructor. For the past decade, Ruth has worked tirelessly in the corporate wellbeing industry, pioneering wellbeing across a variety of sectors. She has predominantly worked within the sports industry, lending her talents as a nutritionist to Charlton Athletic Women’s Team, professional footballers and England Walking Football teams. She has also worked with several weight loss company apps, such as Nutrifix and Noom Inc.
Ruth has also worked for major corporates, such as the like of Just Eat, the Children’s Food Trust and Crossrail. She has also been sought to contribute to various publications such as Women’s Running, Women’s Cycling, Women’s Fitness and Top Santé. The BBC and ITV have also sought her genius as a nutritionist and she has secured consultancy roles for Oskia Skincare, Wellicious, USA Pro, Sports Stylist and Clipper Teas. One of her most prominent roles saw her work in partnership with the Children’s Food Trust, spearheading Lets Get Cooking in a bid to help both children and adults develop a healthier diet and lifestyle. She also played a key part of the Farm to Fork programme by Tesco, helping young children to understand the importance of healthy eating.
To further the reach of her mission for wellbeing, Ruth founded Elevate. She founded this company in a bid to develop and improve the wellbeing of corporate employees, done through the combination of behavioural science and the theory of positive psychology. Through Elevate, Ruth has established a popular reputation as a public speaker conducting various workshops and informative keynote speeches with the mission of improving the countries wellbeing. Ruth is also a STOTT trained Pilates instructor, having spent the past decade conducting a series of classes to help balance the body and mind. From footballers and dancers to pre-natal women, Ruth has lead a class for people of all walks of life.
