Dirk Ahlborn is a serial entrepreneur at the helm of the sectors of technology and innovation. Setting the foundations for an understanding of business, Dirk attended the Organization of German Industry and Commerce obtaining credentials in banking and finance. From that point on Dirk embarked into the world of business becoming the owner of Con-Calma Inc in 2009. He then moved to become the Chief of Operation at Ronda USA in 2011, before joining the Girvan Institute of Technology in Business Development.
A highly influential figure during his tenure at the Girvan Institute, Dirk pioneered the development of numerous start-up companies. He is most notably remembered for developing Advanced Turbine Designs, a major organisation at the helm of natural gas turbine generators. Alongside his pioneering business management, Dirk was also at the helm of Girvan’s marketing, taking responsibility for the search engine optimisation, online marketing, mobile and web applications for the company.
After he left Girvan Institute, Dirk was inspired to venture into business himself. In January of 2013, Dirk channelled his inner entrepreneur and founded JumpStarter. JumpStarter is a web portal with the vision to help create both smarter and more successful companies through crowdsourcing conception. Also in 2013, he co-founded Hyperloop Transportation Technologies Inc, a research company with the vision to develop the future of transportation using Elon Musk’s Hyperloop concept. Hyperloop is a form of passenger and freight transportation that uses low-pressure air and pods to provide transport. Hyperloop Transportation was supported by his first company JumpStarter, using their crowdcollaboration concept to make Hyperloop transportation a reality.
