The expedition was covered by Channel 4, becoming a critically acclaimed series as well as a Sunday Times bestselling book titled Walking the Nile. A year later Levison was inspired to complete a walk that was the length of the Himalayas. A journey that took him from the West of Afghanistan to the East of Bhutan and was also transformed into a TV special. Levison later wrote Walking the Himalayas which was awarded Adventure Travel Book of the Year 2016 at the Edward Stanford Travel Writing Awards.
With his adventures attracting a large audience, Levison has since gone on to have more of his travels turned into popular series, including titled Walking the Americas, and From Russia to Iran: Crossing Wild Frontiers. To date, Levison’s most ambitious expedition saw him complete a 5000-mile circumnavigation of the Arabian Peninsula, from Iraq to Lebanon.
