Lisa Charlwood-Green is known for the support she offers to the LGBT+ community, along with being an Operations Strategy Manager for Network Rail. Whilst being Founder and Director of The WOW Network, Lisa also serves as the Operations Strategy Manager for Network Rail and Chair of the board for Outspoken Arts. Striving to create an inclusive and accommodating environment for people from the LGBT+ community, Lisa has been a Telephone Counsellor for Switchboard LGBT+ Helpline and volunteered for LGBT Youth Scotland. Chair of SQA’s LGBT network, Deputy Chair for the LGBT Network for Network Rail and a consultant for University of Strathclyde on LGBT training, Lisa is completely dedicated to the cause and has even been called a ‘true queer champion’ by MP for Livingstone, Hannah.
Her organisation The WOW Network is one that connects LGBT+ women in the workplace and supports them as they come out in the workplace so that they can feel safe and be themselves at work. Partnering with #Yes She Can, The Wow Network hopes to inspire, empower and engage with women at work just like their partners have. She is a recipient of the Aspire Award in Diversity and Inclusion, the 2021 Diversity and Inclusion Champion of the Year award and was a finalist of the ICON of the Year and Community Group of the Year accolades.
Lisa has also been an Organisational Change and Development Practitioner for the Scottish Qualification Authority, a Project anger for Network Rail and a Business Change Analyst for the University of Strathclyde.
