Caspar Berry is a renowned former professional poker player, who started his career as an actor. Also famed for starring in Byker Grove alongside Ant and Dec, Caspar has worked a varied and exciting career. Having since retired from playing poker, Caspar has ventured into business and tours the motivational speaking circuit focussing on topics of risk-taking and decision making- fuelled by his experiences as a businessman and poker player.
Aged just 15, Caspar burst into the limelight as an actor playing Gill in Byker Grove. Starring alongside Ant and Dec, Caspar acted in the teen soap for two seasons, which led to him also starring in shows such as Spender, Bring Me the Head of Mavis Davis and The Black Velvet Gown. During his time as an actor, Caspar became fascinated with the directing side of television and developed aspirations to become a director. Aged 20, Caspar directed his first commercial and later went on to make feature films for Channel 4. He is now famed for writing Downtime, Killing Time and The Crow: Salvation.
When he was 25, Caspar took a leap and moved to Las Vegas for a new challenge – to become a professional poker player. He soon reached a professional status, becoming a poker advisor on Casino Royale and starring across Poker Night Live and Sky Poker. After three successful years playing the game, Caspar channelled his winnings into creating his own company and became a public speaker on the art of risk management and decision making.
