Qualified in conflict trauma therapy, Justine founded Healing Kashmir which focuses on primary mental health care and operates a suicide helpline. Working in south Asia for more than a quarter of a century, Justine is a regular writer for such publications as The Times, The Financial Times, The Times of India and Vanity Fair. She has also produced six best-selling books, namely The Ochre Border, Scoop-Wallah, Goat: A Story of Kashmir and Notting Hill, Bollywood Boy, The Wonder House and In the Valley of Mist.
Justine Hardy is such an excellent motivational speaker because she can draw on her coal-face experience as director of the Development Research and Action Group in India which helps to create and rebuild schools, medical centres and housing in various areas that have been affected by natural disasters, conflicts and famine.
Justine also has experience in rehabilitating prisoners who have been given a life sentence, having worked with The New Bridge Foundation for 22 years. New Bridge envisages a society where there are fewer victims “because all offenders who can benefit from our support are given the help they need to stop offending”.
