Once upon a time, Pete was not always a world-renowned sailor. With humble beginnings as a Royal Marine, he has accomplished some unimaginable feats during the course of his life. One of the few people in the world to compete in the transatlantic race, let alone compete in seven he has also ventured around the world twice sailing over 300,000 nautical miles along the way.
Being a sailor isn't what really defines Pete as a motivation speaker, and there is one tale that he can tell which can really make an audience ponder what it means to live. During one of his many sailing adventures, an incredible storm descended deep in the Southern Ocean. Much like something out of a film, the storm made the sea swell, with such ferocity it eventually took his yacht after two days of sailing in hurricane force winds. However, Pete was brave enough to find fellow competitor Raphaël during the storm and saved his life.
For this incredible feat of altruism and bravery, he was also awarded an MBE and named World Sailor of the Year. An inspirational figure, Goss consistently challenges himself to achieve new feats including a 1500m circumnavigation of Tasmania and taking a Suzuki-powered RIBS from Scotland to the Arctic Circle. Pete is a highly accomplished motivational keynote and after dinner speaker, drawing on years of experience. His style is dynamic yet informal, and he never fails to amuse, entertain and inform his audience.
Ideal for corporate events, conferences and team-building days, Goss can incorporate a range of themes into his speeches including innovation, leadership and overcoming adversity.
