A widely loved comedian and presenter, Sandi Toksvig has forged a successful career across the screens of British television. From The Great British Bake Off to Have I Got News For You and QI, Sandi has continually solidified her reputation as a fantastic entertainer and host. Best known as a presenter and comedian, Sandi was formerly the co-presenter of The Great British Bake Off and is currently the host of QI. Sandi first entered the world of comedy as part of the illustrious Cambridge University Dramatics Club- writing the first all-women show for the Footlights. From that point on, Sandi went from strength to strength and is now widely known for her unique style of humour. She first embarked into the world of presenting as a children’s presenter, with credits including The Saturday Starship, Island Race, Gilbert’s Fridge, The Talking Show and more.
Having built a strong reputation as a comedian, Sandi has since been invited to star on several comedy orientated shows. She has previously been on Call My Bluff, Whose Line Is It Anyway?, QI, Mock the Week and Have I Got News For You. Other presenting roles also include being the presenter of What The Dickens, 1001 Things You Should Know, Fifteen-to-One and most recently Extraordinary Escapes with Sandi Toksvig. Outside of presenting, Sandi is avidly interested in politics and charity- having been a Patron of the Humanists UK and co-founded the Women’s Equality Party. Sandi is also passionate about the gender pay gap, speaking out on the BBC pay gap after she was paid less than the former QI host, Stephen Fry. She was also formerly the President of the Women of the Year Lunch and the Chancellor of the University of Plymouth.
