A year earlier, Ade had won a bronze medal at the Olympic Games in Athens, turning a childhood dream of his into reality. But it is not just his sporting talent in a wheelchair that has made him into a winner. Ade has captured the hearts of the British public through his intelligence, wit, insight, dashing good looks and his amazingly disarming smile.
As well as his Olympic bronze medal, Ade has won a silver and a bronze in the European championships and a silver in the World Championships. He has also become a vocal opponent of discrimination whether it be against disability or race. Among his TV appearances have been as an actor and the focal point of a documentary which saw him making his way through difficult environments in Nicaragua.
Other TV slots have included presenting That Paralympic Show, being a key figure in the coverage of 2014’s Winter Paralympic Games, voicing a documentary called Cuba, Basketball and Betrayal, heading up The Travel Show and presenting a programme called Britain on Benefits.
