Natalie and Naomi Evans are the authors of “The Mixed-Race Experience”, a book that is based on their own and other people’s experience growing up as part of a mixed-race family. They are both Co-Founders of Everyday Racism UK, working on combatting colourism, mixed race microaggressions, and internalized racism.
Through their work, Natalie and Naomi hope to dismantle systemic racism against BIPOC, by empowering them. They have built a community of 200,000 followers on Instagram, moving one step closer to building an inclusive society. They offer workshops, training courses, book clubs, and provide educational resources so that the exemplary work of Black professionals is highlighted, showcased, and celebrated adequately.
The anti-racism educators are both immensely successful in their individual careers. Natalie is an educator working in a secondary school in South-East England while Naomi has led a successful career in event management. Growing up half black Jamaican and half white British, the sisters have always been subjected to racism – covert and overt. Like them, several others have dealt with similar instances, and therefore Natalie and Naomi wrote “The Mixed-Race Experience” – a book that they could have used when they were growing up. They are also the authors of “Everyday Action, Everyday Change”.
Contributors to leading publications like Red Magazine, Grazia Magazine and the Indie Roller, Naomi and Natalie have also been part of the Channel 5 News Documentary Everyday Racism. In their careers are burgeoning social media influencers, they have worked with high-profile clients like Bupa and Lloyds Banks. Now Natalie and Naomi are available to speak at a wide range of events on diversity, inclusion and topics revolving around race. Hire them today!
