Finn Ni Fhaolain is an ocean and environment advocate who wants to teach people how to live a more sustainable lifestyle. Host of the Oceans of Learning podcast for the Marine Institute, nature and the sea engulf every aspect of Finn’s life. Passionate about educating people about climate change, marine science and sustainability, Finn is now available to speak at events on these topics.
Attempting to embed sustainability in every realm of her life, Finn is always looking for new ways to cook, travel and live more sustainably. Personally, she is trying to eliminate as much plastic and chemical products as she can from her life, in addition to relying less and less on fast fashion. She is also an Ambassador for Clean Coasts and Volvo, roles through which she hopes to combat the raging ocean plastic problem.
Possessing a BSc in Earth and Ocean Science and an MSc in Marine Biology, Finn worked as a freelance Marine Mammal Observer with the Irish Whale and Dolphin Group. She has also served as a Project Coordinator for An Taisce – the National Trust for Ireland which is Ireland’s oldest environmental organisations. Specialising in cold water corals whilst she worked in the Irish and UK seas, Finn began blogging on how to eat healthier, especially consuming a gluten-free diet. This culminated in her publishing her bestselling cookbook “Finn’s World: Do What You Love. Love What You Eat.”
Often contributing to publications like The Irish examiner, The Times, the Independent and Surfgirl Magazine, Finn has worked closely with leading brands like Wild Atlantic Way, SSE Airtricity, Aldi, and Patagonia. Finn is now using her platform as a speaker to address issues related to climate change, marine science, and sustainability. You may now hire Finn Ni Fhaolain for your next environment and sustainability-related event.
