After her education, achieving a BS and an MS in Chemical Engineering, Padmasree’s first major role saw her working as the Chief Technology Officer and EVP at Motorola. In this role, Padmasree was responsible for leading their innovation strategies, directing the Motorola Research Labs and the global software for the company. After almost five years with the company, Padmasree moved on to become the CTO of Cisco. Responsible for the global technology strategy of Cisco, Padmasree worked her way through the ranks at Cisco, later becoming Senior Vice President of Engineering and the CTSO.
Padmasree has also contributed her knowledge as a member of the board of various companies. She has formerly been a Member of the Board of Directors for Thorn, Spotify, Box and Gap Inc. She has also acted as a Member of the Board of Trustees for Cornell University and a Member of the Board for NIO. In reward of her achievements, Padmasree has been the recipient of the Excellence in Engineering, Science and Technology Award 2013, the 2013 Innovator Award for Women in Technology, the Women Elevating Science and Technology Award and the Leadership in Science and Technology Award to name but a few.
