From a young age, Anna has possessed a liking and talent for all things robotics. When she was in the second grade, her father brought her a robotics kit and she quickly learnt to programme them to do simple tasks. Anna then joined FIRST Robotics and has participated in the team ever since. As a part of this robotics team, Anna has been able to develop several skills such as teamwork, leadership and presenting ideas effectively, all of which she is able to cover as a public speaker. Currently the software lead and vice president of her high school robotics team, Anna has developed erudite knowledge of mechanics and electrics.
Alongside her passion for robotics, Anna also has a keen interest in STEM. Determined to ensure others have the opportunities that she has had, Anna decided to co-found STEM4Girls. This non-profit organisation encourages females to study and pursue roles of science, technology, engineering and maths. STEM4Girls delivers workshops for the youth across the breadth of America, encouraging the post-millennial youth to begin learning such subjects from a young age. Anna works alongside the company pushing their agenda, having previously delivered TED talks surrounding the importance of education.
With a knowledgeable background of robotics and STEM, Anna has been able to pioneer a number of personal projects. From a smart water meter to a stuffed animal with voice recognition, Anna has continually impressed officials and teachers alike. She has received recognition for her work from the Science Symposium, MIT Think, the Ant-Man Microtech Challenge and the Junior Humanities. Another testament to her intelligence, Anna is also currently acting as the manager of the Synthesis team for Autodesk.
As a speaker, Anna works to push the importance of education and to make sure that everyone has equal educational opportunities despite their gender. In 2017 Anna was invited to speak at a prestigious event- Audi’s Mobility Quotient. Here she bestowed her avid knowledge of technology, innovation and engineering to high-profile clients, speaking alongside leading industry professionals such as David Rowan and Steve Wozniak. A seasoned TED talker, Anna has used her platform as a space to advocate for technical education and to push that such education is vitally important.
