Anne-Marie Imafidon’s claim to fame is not limited to the fact that she was the youngest person ever to have graduated A-levels at the mere age of 11, or that she’s the youngest person to earn a Master’s degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Oxford at 20. It instead extends to the fact that she now works tirelessly to induct women all over into the world of STEM. Finding one’s place in this male-dominated industry can be so hard, but because of Anne-Marie’s efforts, it might just be easier for women to achieve their goals. She was made the Judge of the 2019 Baille Gifforf Non-Fiction Prize and happens to be a host of Evening Standard's ‘Women Tech Charge’ podcast. Her work as Board Member and Advisor for various organisations has been recognised and rewarded and Anne-Marie accepted the honour of the MBE title in 2017 for her service young women and the STEM sector. She was also voted the Most Influential Woman in Tech in the UK by Computer Weekly in 2020. A TV personality now too, Anne-Marie stepped in to cover for Rachel Riley as the co-presenter of Channel 4’s Countdown and has completed 60 episodes as its Arithmetician.
A Visiting Professor at the University of Sunderland, Anne-Marie has received Honorary Doctorates from Open University, Glasgow Caledonian University, Kent University, Bristol University & Coventry University and an Honorary Fellowship at Keble College, Oxford. From being a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts to her position as Board Member of DCMS Digital Skills Partnership, Anne-Marie’s talents are nothing short of awe-inspiring.
