Nonny de la Peña is a credited American Journalist, Filmmaker and Entrepreneur. As the current Founder and CEO of Emblematic Group, she has helped develop the new genre of immersive journalism. Having gained the chance to travel in Mexico throughout the start of her career, Nonny has gained experience working within many different cultures and understanding what different audiences are looking for, which is why she is in great demand for speaking events.
After graduating from Harvard University, Nonny began freelancing in Mexico to assist the Fund of Investigate Journalism. Having found her passion for journalism, she started her professional career at Time Magazine before becoming a correspondent for Newsweek. In 2009, Nonny fulfilled the role of Senior Research Fellow in Immersive Journalism at the USC Annenberg School of Journalism. Aside from her work at the Emblematic Group, Nonny is now the Founding Director of the Centre for Emerging Media and Narrative at Arizona State University, which allows her to work with graduates to educate them on the future of immersive journalism. Recognised for her achievements, Nonny has been awarded numerous times throughout her career. In 2019, she was honoured as one of the 20 Most Influential Latinos in Tech by CNET and has previously been named #MakeTechHuman Agent of Change by WIRED Magazine.
