Tim Spector OBE is a British Epidemiologist and Science Writer who is renowned for his work on the Covid-19 response. Beginning his career training in medicine, Tim secured the role of Consultant Rheumatologist before deciding to focus his career researching the genetic factors in health and disease. Educating a large audience, Tim released ‘The Diet Myth: The Real Science Behind What We Eat’ in 2015 to explain how our diet and microbiome affect our health throughout our lifetime. Throughout Covid, Tim worked closely with the company he co-founds, ZOE, to create an app to introduce into his TwinsUK study to record symptoms they were experiencing, which has now gained more than 4 million users to date. In 2020, he was appointed an OBE for his services to the Covid-19 response.
