What Is Conference Chairing?
Conference chairing, what is it? It’s a question we often receive so thought it was time to explain in detail what conference chairing is.
Firstly, conference chairing is a very privileged position. The role sees an individual being responsible for making sure that an event goes to plan, which could be any event and therefore does not necessarily have to be a conference. Most of the events that require a chair are usually in academia, however sometimes a chair might oversee a keynote speech and those speakers who talk before or after.
A chairperson is also responsible for ensuring that the event runs to time, ensuring each speaker gets a chance to do their presentation. They can also intervene with any of the speakers to ensure a Q&A runs smoothly and to plan.
